Full of Good Intentions

Since the second World War an extraordinary series of heroic edices has been constructed in the outer suburbs of Paris. Housing people moving from the countryside and other nations, many have been declared failures; others targetted for renewal.

Photographer Laurent Kronental visited many of these estates over a four year period, documenting the astonishing architectural legacy and the remaining residents.

Happy Birthday Capability Brown

This year marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, creator of some of the most influential English landscapes.

Not content with bringing the 'ha-ha' to global fame, Brown's naturalistic country landscapes include Blenheim Palace Park (seen above). Events are planned across the country, throughout the year. Ha ha!

Event - Treasure Island

The State Library of Queensland is hosting the Asia Pacific Architecture Forum this March. Lucky for me, I am one of two local designers who've been invited to rummage through the library's collection of Queensland ephemera, select a couple of pieces and respond in some way.

I've always loved this photo of a diving competition held at the disused Morningside quarry, and it's got me thinking.
