Most Australians live in urban settlements - our cities and towns - and we are one of the most urbanised countries on the planet. Our country is also home to some of the most ancient, rare and stunning landscapes on earth.
All our landscapes, both natural and human-made, provide countless benefits to our health, wellbeing, our way of life, our culture and our economy.
In short, cities and landscapes are important, and they require considered and creative leadership and stewardship.
In preparation for the upcoming Federal election, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects sought comment from the major political parties on questions of concern to the Institute and its members.
